2010 FIFA World Cup: Star- Didier Drogba

Didier Drogba Fresh from winning the Golden Boot in the English Premier League with Chelsea, Drogba is likely to give both Brazil and Portugal headaches in Group G.
Temperamentally volatile, he received a ban after the Champions League semifinal against Barcelona in 2009 for remonstrating with the referee and mouthing an obscenity into the camera.
Captain and all time top-scorer for the Ivory Coast, Drogba's strike power could help the team negotiate another potential minefield this year after being slotted in the Group of Death back in 2006, from which they failed to emerge unscathed.

2010 FIFA World Cup: Stars - Wayne Rooney

Wayne Rooney England's hopes of regaining the World Cup lean disproportionately on Rooney who was in prime form during qualifying with nine goals in ten games.
Coach Fabio Capello may have missed several heartbeats after the Manchester United star injured his ankle in the Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich but fortunately it caused no lasting damage.
The joys of fatherhood appear to have helped Rooney curb his headstrong nature, best illustrated by the red card for stamping on Ricardo Carvalho's privates in the 2006 World Cup quarter-final against Portugal.
